It was a cold (-17 degees Celsius) morning and sunny day for a walk in the Technoparc area. We toured the construction area and lamented what used to be there. We observed some avian activity. Joel led us on a lively and informative walk.
There were 2 male Red-winged Blackbirds way up a tall tree. In the distance, over the airport, we saw an aerial skirmish between a Harrier Hawk and a Rough-legged Hawk.
Next to road, we saw a Hairy Woodpecker. This was a teaching moment on how to identify a Downy and a Hairy Woodpecker.
A Red-tailed Hawk was flying low, in th distance, near the runway.
On the way home, I stopped by Parc Nature Bois de Liesse.
Near the chalet, I saw some House Finches.
Lots of Black-capped Chickadees
and a White-breasted Nuthatch.
That all for today’s walk.
