It was a nice and sunny morning for bird watching. I went to the BPQ walk at Parc nature de l’Île de la Visitation. Joel was our guide today. It was very educational. We saw 49 species of birds which includes 11 warbler species.
The warblers were very active near the chalet. They are small and fast birds. It take patience and lots of eyes to find them. Photographing warblers is challenging. Here are some shots of the warblers.
Cape May Warbler
Black-throated Green Warbler
Tennessee Warbler (J)
We found a Black-crowned Night Heron near the bistro.
There were Song Sparrows
and House Sparrows
There were a few ring-billed gulls and a Great black-backed gull on top of the dam.
An Osprey landed on the island at the end of the dam. It looks like he is having sushi for lunch.
There were Canada Geese and Mallards on the river.
A Downy Woodpecker landed right next me. She was too close. I had to take a step back to take this shot.
A Double Crested Cormorant standing on a rock.
A Great Blue Heron was nearby.
We found a couple of hornet/wasp nest . We didn’t stick around to long.
That all for today’s walk.
