My daughter, Shannon, and I went to Cap St. Jacques nature park early this morning. When we got to the nature park the parking lot was full. There was a race today. We kept going until we got the far end of the park. It was a cloudy and cool morning, about 16 degrees Celsius It was drizzling on and off.
The Lilacs were in bloom.
We heard a lot of birds, most were hiding in the trees. We did find a Robin.
Some Song Sparrows were hopping around in the grass.
There were lots of Red-winged Blackbirds chasing the females
Shannon heard a bird that she did not recognize. We found a Killdeer in the field. Soon it was joined by two more. The three Killdeer were flying around and landing in the field.
I tried to get shots of the Killdeer flying. This was the only one in focus.
A Tree Swallow on the fence.
There were a few American Goldfinches here and there.
We visited the experimental farm and there were some animals grazing like a Donkey
and a Sheep.
We met a one of the maintenance workers and he said that the area will be closed soon for a party. It started to rain. Time to go.
That all for today’s walk.
