Parc-nature de l’Île-de-la-Visitation

Our walk today was at Parc-nature de l’Île-de-la-Visitation. Joel Coutu lead us all around the park. It was a great day for a walk.



There were a few squirrels around.

In the distance, we saw a Yellow-bellied Sapsucker.

There were Red-winged Black-birds squawking.

The Golden-crowned Kinglets were very active.

We found a Eastern Phoebe down by the river in the brush.

There was a lot of activity around the feeder.

After a brief rest, we continued on the path and found some Pine Siskins and some American Robins.

Quite a few Downy Woodpeckers were flying around.

Near the Bistro we heard a Cardinal. It was 2/3 of the way up a tree.

We heard the cry of a hawk and spotted it. We quickly walked to a clearing and found it circling around. Joel gave us a lesson on how to identify hawks. It was very educational.

Back to trail. We found a Hairy Woodpecker at a feeder.

There were some Blacked-capped chickadees near the river.

At the river, we found some Mallards, Wood Ducks and American Black Ducks.

There were Canada Geese in the air, in the water, and standing around.
