Ile Bizard nature park

Another beautiful spring day for a walk. After a family brunch, I went to Ile Bizard nature park. There were a lot of people there. I heard a lot of birds and saw very few birds. I walked to the first boardwalk then to the second boardwalk. The trails were slushy with some muddy patches. The marsh is still frozen.

I heard Northern Cardinals, Black-capped Chickadees, and American Robins. They were hiding in the brush and would not come out.

I saw some Cedar Waxwings and Ringed-billed Gulls in the distance.

I found a Hairy Woodpecker near the top of a tree.

I saw a Turkey Vulture soaring above just before the first boardwalk.

A Great Blue Heron flew by.

Some Canada Geese circled around a couple of times and flew off.

Standing at lookout and admiring the view, I noticed a raptor circling around. I took a few shots and then tried to identify it. I thought it maybe a Cooper’s Hawk. Then I noticed the red and the short tail. It was a Red-shouldered Hawk.

It was getting hot and I was over heating. I headed back and did not see much. Just a few gulls in the distance.
